She attended Brown University in the United States and Worcester College, Oxford University, where she earned a BA in English literature in 2014.

Early Life

Emma Watson was born to an English family in Paris. She was raised in Oxfordshire and London – starting at the age of five. Watson was a student at Stagecoach Theatre Arts. She also attended the Dragon School in Oxford and, afterward, Headington School. She took part in a number of amateur school plays. She also spent a lot of time perfecting drama and understanding how to be an actress. Watson was contacted to audition for the newest film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 1999. She went to eight auditions and astonished producer David Heyman with her self assurance and acting skills. J.K.Rowling fell in love with Watson right away and wished her to perform Hermione from the very first audition. She was cast as the lead character of Hermione Granger, Harry Potter’s closest friend. Hermione was intelligent, bossy, and a strong paragon of virtue. People noticed Watson was quite active and vocal from a young age, and her innate self confidence started growing with the character.

Living the life of Hermione Granger

Watson earned the position of Hermione Granger, Harry Potter’s intelligent, bossy friend and trusted friend, after impressing casting directors and the film’s producers. Daniel Radcliffe acted as Harry Potter, and Rupert Grint acted as Ron Weasley,  another close friend of Harry potter. Starting with the official launch of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone in November 2001, the group of British child actors had become known throughout the world for their personalities as young wizards facing a war between good and bad. Watson’s role in the movie was a huge success: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone made a record-breaking $33.3 million on its first day in the United States, returning to a worldwide total of $975 million. It was shortlisted for three Academy Awards and seven BAFTA Medals, and Watson received critical acclaim, solidifying her position as a rising star.

Watson spent the succeeding 10 years filming the Harry Potter sequence. She played Hermione again in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in 2002 and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in 2004, and she remained in the eight-part series until the final movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, in 2011. Despite spending their teenage years on movie sets, Watson and co-stars Radcliffe and Grint maintained their education, with 5 hours of private tuition per day. Watson took high school equivalency examinations and received high marks in all subjects. She took a year off from the institution to shoot the final two Harry Potter films, but she insisted on continuing her education. Watson worked very hard to peel away her child star impression, which was so closely associated with the Harry Potter film series. In one of her interviews, she stated, I have grown up in a complete capsule. They discovered me and chose me for the part. And now I’m helpless trying to figure out how to get through it.

Film career

Watson made her non-Harry Potter film debut in 2007, when she acted Pauline Fossil in Ballet Shoes, a TV film that aired on Boxing Day in the United Kingdom. She even tried her hand at voice acting, playing Princess Pea in the animated feature film The Tale of Despereaux, which did well at the box office. Soon after the end of the Harry Potter series, Watson made appearances in My Week with Marilyn, which won the Capri Art Film Festival Awards for Best Ensemble Cast. Her role in the film The Perks of Being a Wallflower earned her multiple awards, which include Best Supporting Actress and Best Ensemble Performance at the San Diego Film Critics Society Awards, Favorite Drama Movie Actress at the People’s Choice Awards, as well as Actress Drama Award at the Teen Choice Awards. Several of the actor’s other films entail The Bling Ring, which was previewed in 2013, Noah, which was released in 2014, and Regression, which was made available in 2015. She then showed up in the BBC television sitcom The Vicar of Dibley episode The Bishop of Dibley.

Beauty and the Beast, a musical romance fantasy directed by Bill Condon, and The Circle, an American techno-thriller directed by James Ponsoldt, are among her 2017 releases. The movie, which originally aired at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017, earned mostly poor feedback and wrecked at the box office upon its cinema release. In 2020, she appeared in Greta Gerwig’s film Little Women. The film won numerous prestigious awards and was shortlisted for six Academy Awards, which include Best Picture, at the 92nd Academy Awards.

Watson’s relationship with Boulle ended after only a few months, and she started dating Jay Barrymore. Despite the fact that the two decided to move in together, the relationship did not last after Watson started school because the two couldn’t effectively deal with the distance. She met George Craig at a Burberry shoot in 2010 and apparently turned it on with him. Their relationship vanished as a result of the distance. Watson was pictured with Will Adamowicz at Coachella in 2013. They met while Watson was doing her school term abroad and dated for two years. In 2014, Watson dated Oxford Rugby celebrity Matthew Janney after ending a meaningful relationship. Watson, who had kept quiet about her relationship with him, revealed their breakup the same year.
